Natural:
Manila is affected by around 6 or 7 typhoons every year and this means that there is also constant flooding.In order to adapt to the amount of natural disaters, the city has started dredging its rivers to improving the drainage network. The Pasig RIver is one one of the most polluted rivers in the world, it is where nearly 150 tons of domestic waste and 75 tons of industrial waste are dumped daily. Although there is a program that is in charge of cleaning up the Pasig River for transportation and tourism purposes.

Manila is a well-known shopping area of the country and it is one of the best shopping destinations in Asia. There are many malls, markets and shopping centres in Manila. The largest of these being Robinsons Place. One of the main marketplaces is Quiapo or "Old Downtown". You can find many boutiques, department stores, electronics stores and music stores.
